Community Living Coordinator
Tim grew up in the small town of Wellington, Ohio and moved to Toledo when he graduated from high school. The plan was to attend the University of Toledo, but plans do change. After spending 18 years in the textile industry, Tim went back to school to receive his Associate Degree from Owens Community College, Bachelor degree in Psychology/Pre-Art Therapy, and then finally a Masters of Organizational Leadership from Lourdes University.
While obtaining his education, life again decide that it needed to make some changes. Being told he had a large tumor that needed to be removed, it was at this time that life made its biggest change. Tim reflects, “Waking up and finding that I could not use my leg, thinking “How do I go on?” Finding the strength and support of my family and friends I did. It was while learning who this “New Tim” was I worked with Campus Ministry at Lourdes University. It was here that I found my drive to help others while participating in outreach programs such as Helping Hands Soup Kitchen, and Collegiate Challenge with Habitat for Humanity. I also ride my bike 300 plus miles to raise money for MESA (Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad) a Rotary project. In my spare time, I like to camp and spend time with my family, friends, and my dogs.”
The “New Tim” might have limits to what he can do, BUT they do not limit me on living my life.
