Training
Most of the dogs in our program are Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, or mixes. They are between the ages of eight weeks and two years of age and come from a variety of sources including private breeders, pet home donations, other service dog organizations, shelters and rescues, and Assistance Dogs’s own breeding program.
Assistance Dogs uses science-driven training techniques that empower the dogs to engage in the learning process with the volunteers and trainers in order to achieve high quality results. View sample training videos and follow along with some of our dogs in training below.
