Auxiliary Style Show, IMAGINE!

October 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Thank you to all who attended the 35th annual Style Show!

Funds from last year’s event supported activities for youth in our Next Steps Summer Program looking to gain independent living and employment skills. Money raised also purchased puppy enrichment equipment, sponsored a dog through our assistance dog program, paid for a ramp on a child’s home, and financially assisted four students with disabilities with money for college.

Sashem Brey
from 13abc news anchor
will emcee the event.

Thank you to our emcee, Sashem Brey

As she was growing up, Sashem loved two things: talking and TV. Now she is proud and grateful to have made a career out of both!

Brey is an Ohio-born-and-bred, Emmy-winning anchor who joined 13ABC in 2004. The former night-owl was surprised to find there was a cheerful morning person hibernating within, and she cherishes being welcomed into your homes via the #1-rated "Action News Good Morning" and "13abc Action News at Noon". Sashem and Jeff Smith make up the longest-running morning team in the market, and after all these years, loyal viewers know how much they enjoy working together and sharing those laughs with friends on the other side of the lens.

In 2011, Brey was honored with the "Toledo 20 Under 40" Award recognizing her contributions to the community. She has also covered some of Northwest Ohio's biggest news stories: she provided live reports to CNN as the only TV reporter on-scene when the 2005 Neo-Nazi Riots exploded in the streets, donned a life jacket to cover devastating flooding, and nabbed an exclusive interview with American Idol runner-up (and Northwest Ohio native) Crystal Bowersox.

Before arriving in Toledo, Sashem graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!), all while tackling behind-the-scenes work at WSYX-ABC 6/FOX 28 News and WSNY-FM. She also worked at E! News in Los Angeles and KLBK/KAMC in Lubbock, Texas, where she won several Associated Press awards for her anchoring and reporting.
