The Ability Center is looking to secure job sites for our upcoming Next Steps Summer Program, an interactive program for high school students with disabilities. Our program serves juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who have goals of independent living, competitive employment, and/or post-secondary education.
During the employment piece of the program, participants are placed at a jobsite for five weeks as they learn entry level skills and gain essential experience in a professional work environment. This employment experience is fully funded by The Ability Center and would be at no cost to the host site.
Each participant will have a job coach accompanying them to help bridge any learning gaps that may exist. We do our best to make meaningful matches and intend to place participants at sites in which they are interested. We are looking for organizations to host our participants and allow them to assist with your daily operations. These individuals are eager to work and provide your workplace with additional support in any area that may be beneficial to you.
July 13 - August 12, 2021
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all programming is subject to change based on directives from local and state government.
If interested, please contact, Lisa Broseke, Youth Employment Coordinator.
