Our Plan – Coronavirus Disease 2020

Our Plan – Coronavirus Disease 2020

As a service organization for people with disabilities, we understand our population is one of the at risk groups for contracting this virus.

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, The Ability Center will temporarily close access to the public as a precaution against the Coronavirus/COVID-19. At this time, we are anticipating this to be through April 3, 2020.

All events after this date are up to the discretion of Ability Center staff. Information will be dispersed related to all events at a later date.

Please note: There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 tied to The Ability Center.

During this time, there will be no home visits from any Ability Center staff. We will not be accepting donations/returns of any Medical Equipment.

We will continue to send out any program applications requested and provide other information helpful to our consumers. Medical Equipment pick-up will be available with social distancing measures in place to minimize contact. The Ability Center advocacy team is currently in touch with our state and local partners and decision makers to ensure that the needs of the disability community are being taken into account in responses to this crisis. Youth Services and Assistance Dog Programs will continue to work with consumers virtually.

We remain committed to the community and all departments will be on hand to accept phone calls to assist our consumers. For assistance, please call 419.885.5733 or message us. Pick up location for equipment is 5033 Skelly Road, Sylvania, OH 43560.
