Community Resource Coordinator, Eryn Sanders, became a certified mentor through the Reeve Foundation Peer and Family Support Program. The Reeve Foundation, named after Christopher and Dana Reeve, is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury through grants, information, and advocacy.
The Ability Center believes in the importance of peer support and the strength it provides members of the disability community. The mission of the program is to provide support and information on local and national resources to people living with paralysis, their families, and caregivers.
Eryn’s role at ACT includes regular contact with rehabilitation centers to meet with individuals who are new to disability. Our partnership with the Reeve Foundation is connecting our programs to other agency resources to deliver the best outcomes for our consumers.
Eryn shares, “Being a certified mentor helps me when going into the rehabilitation centers and talking to these individuals who may otherwise not know where to turn.”
