Jack Perion – Director of Finance and Operations
After living in many different areas of the country, Jack’s family settled in Dundee, Michigan when he was in middle school. Jack comes from a large family and parents that taught him a strong work ethic and community involvement. Jack is a graduate of Siena Heights University.
Jack joined The Ability Center with more than 25 years of accounting experience.
Curtis Jackson – Accountant
Curtis is a Michigan native who has enjoyed multiple roles before beginning his career as an Accountant for The Ability Center. He grew up in a small country town in Michigan. Curtis says, “Even though the town is small, I have a huge Michigan heart.” He had a short list of titles including construction worker, truck driver, and nursing assistant before coming to The Ability Center.
Working as a nursing assistant is what caused Curtis to move to Ohio in pursuit of a degree in Nursing, although he ended up getting a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Forensic Accounting. He is a graduate of Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio which is the second largest school in Columbus. Before attending Franklin University, he was a graduate from Owens Community College where he learned about the opportunities at Franklin University.
Amanda Bell – Accounting Assistant
Amanda was born and raised here in Toledo. She is a 2005 graduate from Owens Community College, and has an Associate of Business Degree in Office Administration. Amanda enjoys being one of the smiling faces people see at the Center since she came on board in November 2007.
Johnathan Bowen – Maintenance Coordinator
Johnathan has an Associate’s Degree from Owens Community College with a major in Building Maintenance Engineering and a minor in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning. Johnathan worked in maintenance for Country Inn and Suites before coming to The Ability Center. He has a gift of helping and communicating with people. Johnathan is married and has three children.
Matt Whitmore – Custodian
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Matt moved to Toledo with his family in 1987. He is a Whitmer graduate and an Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Project, he took a group of kids from The Ability Center camping at Camp Miakonda for a weekend. Matt also attended Camp Cricket in the early 1990′s. He absolutely loves sports and his favorite teams include the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, Green Bay Packers, Jeff Gordon and, because he likes watching Tiger Woods, golf. He recently took up golf and Putt-Putt. Matt loves to boogie board in the ocean off Florida and also enjoys the coasters at Cedar Point and Busch Gardens.
Matt also enjoys hiking, and has backpacked Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, and Yosemite. Matt says, “I love my job at The Ability Center and enjoy talking sports with my friends and fellow staff members.”
