Next Steps Summer Program

The Next Steps Summer Program is designed to prepare students with disabilities for college and post-secondary training. Students enter the program ready to increase their independence and foster leadership abilities. Cooking, cleaning, and laundry are just a few of the tasks students conquer during the five-week program spent on the University of Toledo campus. Each student will have the opportunity to create a resume and sharpen their interview skills. Students also master how to dress, what to say, and how to conduct themselves in a professional setting. In partnership with the Toledo Rotary’s Disability Service Committee, students thrive in skilled job opportunities with local companies. This program uses assessment tools and self-advocacy methods to prepare students for the next step after high school in education or trade.
