Kim Shankleton, Director of Finance
I have lived in the Toledo area most of my life and find it important to give back to my community. My academic experience and degrees are from The University of Toledo and Lourdes College. I became aware of The Ability Center as a result of my husband’s illnesses and through other family members with disabilities.
Working at the Center has given me a wonderful opportunity to provide financial services while enjoying being a part of the connection with the human spirit in everyone.
I’ve never worried about my own success. Instead, I have focused on helping others to be successful. Trusting in this philosophy has brought me here today.
Though I have over 20 years of experience in all aspects of administration, finance, human resources, and accounting in the for-profit world, it was working with Franciscan Services and The Sisters of St. Francis that really prepared me for the unique needs of a non-profit organization like The Ability Center.
My job here is to be a financial catalyst for the Center’s future. I help fellow staff to be ethically and fiscally responsible in their programs and share my philosophy by serving on several boards in the Community.
