Ability Magazine – The first publication focusing on disabilities to crossover into mainstream America.
Active Living Magazine - Health, fitness, recreation and sports magazine for those with a disability looking to attain or maintain an active lifestyle.
ADDitude - This is a healthy lifestyle online magazine for people with ADD & Learning Disabilities.
Disability Studies Quarterly (DSQ) is the journal of the Society for Disability Studies (SDS). It is a multidisciplinary and international journal of interest to social scientists, scholars in the humanities, disability rights advocates, creative writers, and others concerned with the issues of people with disabilities.
Exceptional Parent – A magazine for families and professionals that assist in parenting your child or young adult with a disability.
ILRU Publication Page – This is a great place to explore. Years of information gathered on all-things IL. Articles, publications, research-based training materials developed by ILRU (Independent Living Research Utilization), a program of TIRR (The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research).
inMotion Magazine – Published bimonthly for amputees, caregivers and healthcare professionals, providing timely and comprehensive information.
Mouth Magazine – Lucy Gwin’s baby: a grass-rooted activist contribution. Long a strong, raw voice in the Disability Rights Movement.
New Mobility – A very smart monthly publication. Great magazine, great writers, great website. Very topical. Addresses life issues that concern chair-users.
NCA’s Publication Page – The National Center on Accessibility, based at Indiana University, promotes access and inclusion for people with disabilities in parks, recreation and tourism. This page lists their extensive library or publications and videos.
NCIL’s “News, Action Alerts and Position Papers” Page – dedicated to providing you the most up-to-date information on legislation that matters to you most.
PALAESTRA – Published in cooperation with United States Paralympics (USP), a division of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), the Adapted Physical Activity Council (APAC) of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); and the Education Committee of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
Paraplegia News – The magazine published by the PVA (Paralyzed Veterans of America) for wheelchair users.
Ragged Edge – Formerly, like 10 years ago, The Disability Rag, this online e-mag is Mary Johnson’s well-rounded resource for what’s happening in the movement and society. This is also the site for The Avacado Press. Phenomenial books. By us, of us and about us.
SpeciaLiving Magazine – Information on accessible housing, special products, such as ramps, bathing systems, urinary devices, lifts, etc.; to travel; inspiration; how to get in better shape; and more.
Sport’s N Spokes Magazine – Magazine covering the latest in competitive wheelchair sports and recreational opportunities, also put out by PVA.
TASH Connections – The support magazine of TASH, a national advocacy group.
Today’s Caregiver - This magazine is dedicated to various health and care-giving issues.
