Peer Support
Knowing one isn’t alone in the world is a powerful feeling. Whether one is new to disability or just dealing with life’s many issues, the Ability Center provides Peer Support for individuals and groups wishing to better understand living life with disability.
The Independent Living Skills Coordinator facilitates the Project LIFE Program (Learn, Inclusion, Friendship, Experience), which is an after school organization (“club”) offered within the local area high schools. The program consists of students with and without disabilities. Project LIFE provides students inclusive social opportunities outside of the school setting. The Independent Living Skills Coordinator works with ACT consumers to create other mentor opportunities, both personal and professional.
Group Support
The Center offers space for meeting to disability-related support groups. If you are interested in using one of our meeting rooms, please contact Angie Hiser, Manager of Information and Referral by calling the Center or at ahiser@abilitycenter.org.
