Periodically, The Ability Center received volunteer opportunity announcements from agencies in the community. These are listed below for your convenience.

 


Perrysburg Receptionist

Purpose:
Serves as receptionist for the Perrysburg office located at 1011 Sandusky, Suite I, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551

Job Description:
Answer phones, greet persons who walk in, come for appointments or meetings at Perrysburg office

Qualifications:
Must relate well with the public, have good interpersonal skills, have good telephone technique, understand and maintain confidentiality, be able to follow agency guidelines including having a drug screening and background check, have ability to work as a team member, and be able to work independently. Typing, computer and organizational skills would be helpful. Person may bring another activity for their use during down time.

Time Commitment:
The office is open when clients have appointments and the agency needs Receptionists during that time. Volunteers should sign up for 4-hour shifts, according to the counseling schedule.

Training:
Kristy Dunlap will provide orientation and initial overview. A resource folder will be available at the desk with specific information and procedures.

Clinical Records Maintenance

Purpose:
Prepare records for storage, and scan them into computer in LSS Collingwood Office

Job Description:
Work with Clinical Staff to archive records as identified by the stated guidelines

Qualifications:
Volunteer must be able to work closely with Clinical Staff, as well as work alone. Individual needs to follow agency guidelines and keep all matters confidential.

Time Commitment:
Opportunities to work on this task coincide with the agency’s schedule. Person could have a regular assignment or work as their schedule permits. Volunteers should sign up for 3-hour shifts.

Training:
Clinical Secretarial staff provides orientation and initial overview. Fingerprints needed.
